My apologies for not updating the blog this month. It's been a very busy month for me personally. I had to go out of town on short notice which prevented me from doing my show this past Sunday. A Preview of Episode 95 of the Sol Sector Block Party!

I've got another good one for you folks this week in the SSBP! This week we go back to the classic show format with a variety of fun themed blocks of music including a new Music Rock Block, a double dose of Springtime blocks, a Cosmic block, a Electro Remix block, and last but not least we'll be closing out the show with a special Trek Block in honor of William Shatner's birthday!

A Preview of Tonight's SSBP

I'm very excited about this episode of the Sol Sector Block Party because not only is it packed with great music, it will be EXTENDED!

That's right folks, since DJ Atomos will not be on air for the Harmless Content radio show I will be covering about two hours of his shift. The first hour will be an all-request hour and then we'll move into an extended, 3-hour edition of the SSBP! The extra time will allow us to do 3 blocks of brand NEW music from bands like Chevelle, Linkin Park, Young Money, Coldplay, and more! On top of that, this episode also contains many other fun blocks celebrating the topics; Daylight Savings, Virtues, and Good Vibes. Closing out the show will be an all-request Trek block where I play YOUR favorite Trek Tunes.

A Preview of this Sunday's SSBP.

    The Sol Sector Block Party's mission is to boldly explore music , much in the same way the great captains of Star Trek explore the galaxy. Each episode of the SSBP contains "blocks" of songs that fit particular themes or musical genres. Typically we do 5-6 blocks per episode, each with their own theme, although often you will see certain blocks such as the Trek Block return regularly.

Once a month we take a break from the regular format to engage in an in-game dance party in Star Trek Online. February's dance party occurred this past weekend and it was a total blast! We had a great turn-out with listeners dressing their STO characters up in some great raver costumes. Congrats to player @lhr002 who won our grand prize giveaway of a Master Key! Everyone who attended was eligible for a party prize pack and I've sent them out to everyone on my list. However if you attended the party and didn't receive your gifts please contact me and I'll make sure you get taken care of!

Ok, now on to this week's episode of the SSBP where we'll be returning to the show's regular format. I've got some fantastic blocks lined up for you covering several timely topics. First up it's Mardi Gras weekend which means we'll have a giggly pair of Mardi Gras themed blocks!. Not to mention Sunday night is also Oscar Night so we'll have a couple of blocks dedicated to the soundtracks and films nominated for awards this year. Additionally, in honor of some of the great entertainers we've lost this year, an "In-memoriam" block will be held.
